Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. is planning something big! They’re expanding and creating offices, housing and even retail space on 130 acres in Donelson. The area is directly across Briley Parkway from the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
Lincoln Property Co., a Dallas-based real estate firm, is developing the land. Instead of building everything for the multi-use space at once, they’re doing it in waves. The commercial firm will build as the real estate market allows.
According to Metro Councilman Jeff Syracuse, this will be a welcome addition to the area. He tells the Tennessean that “everyone” will like it.
“It will create jobs, housing that supports the hotel and restaurants in the area and add retail,” he says. “Even hopefully a grocer for neighbors that live in that area.”
Ryman Hospitality Chairman and CEO Colin Reed says that the new development will be “complementary to our existing assets and the surrounding community.” He also speaks very highly of the residential area they’re planning.
"We are also particularly excited about the planned multifamily housing so that people who work in these offices and surrounding businesses have the opportunity to live nearby.”
This 130-acre development will be a big addition to the Ryman Hospitality Property Inc.’s other properties. Aside from the Gaylord Opryland Resort, they also have the Opry, Ryman Auditorium and Ole Red. Ole Red isn’t open yet but it’s an entertainment venue planned for Broadway.
